Mill Hill NW7 is a large, varied area on the western edge of Barnet borough — the historic Mill Hill Village conservation area on the ridge, substantial inter-war houses through the centre, and newer flats and townhouses around Mill Hill East.
Mill Hill housing stock. Substantial detached and semi-detached homes dominate around the Ridgeway and Wise Lane. The central Mill Hill Broadway area has more compact 1930s semis. Mill Hill East has post-2000 mixed-tenure developments.
Carpentry in Mill Hill. Generous-budget projects are common — bespoke kitchens and fitted wardrobes in the substantial detached properties, often factory-sprayed finishes and in-frame Shaker detail.
Lofts & extensions. The larger detached properties are mansard and dormer candidates with generous footprints. Conservation areas on the ridge restrict permitted development — planning involvement is the norm for substantial schemes.
