How it works

Herts Build is a local referral service for homeowners in Barnet and Hertfordshire. You tell us what you need, we pass your details to a trusted local specialist, they contact you to discuss the job and arrange a free quote. That's it.

We don't employ tradespeople directly and we don't quote on the work ourselves. We're a small local outfit putting homeowners in this corner of North London in touch with a builder we know and trust.

Why we focus on this area

National directories work fine for some jobs. But for substantial domestic building work — a loft conversion, a kitchen extension, a whole-house renovation — the gap between a national directory match and a genuinely local specialist is enormous. A national platform might send your enquiry to someone forty miles away who'll quote without ever visiting. We put you in touch with someone who's worked your postcode before and knows what to expect when they walk in.

The owner of Herts Build has lived and worked across the Barnet–Hertfordshire corridor — Borehamwood, Arkley, Potters Bar, Radlett — for over a decade. We know which streets in Borehamwood are 1960s hip-roofed semis (textbook hip-to-gable lofts), which Whetstone conservation areas restrict standard dormers, and which Finchley terraces have the back-additions that suit L-shaped conversions.
